Hyundai Motor, July Global Sales Down 1%... "Full Effort to Expand Sales in Second Half"
Hyundai Motor Company announced on the 1st that it sold 332,003 units worldwide in July, a 1.4% decrease compared to the same month last year.
In July alone, Hyundai sold 56,009 units domestically and 275,994 units overseas. Compared to the same period last year, domestic sales decreased by 2.6%, and overseas sales decreased by 1.1%.
In the domestic market, sedans sold 16,069 units, including 6,287 units of the Grandeur, 5,532 units of the Sonata, and 3,975 units of the Avante. Recreational Vehicles (RVs) sold 17,986 units, including 5,248 units of the Santa Fe, 3,124 units of the Tucson, 2,414 units of the Kona, and 3,425 units of the Casper.
The Porter recorded sales of 5,177 units, the Staria sold 3,575 units, and medium and large buses and trucks sold a total of 2,305 units.
The premium brand Genesis sold a total of 10,703 units, including 3,143 units of the G80, 2,837 units of the GV80, and 3,839 units of the GV70.
Hyundai sold 275,994 units in overseas markets in July, a 1.1% decrease compared to the same month last year.
A Hyundai official stated, "Uncertain business conditions continue due to demand slowdown caused by high interest rates and increased incentives due to intensified competition," adding, "We plan to strengthen production and sales systems suitable for local demand and policies and respond flexibly to market changes by region."

He also added, "We will focus on increasing sales of eco-friendly vehicles through the global launch of the Casper EV (overseas name: IONSTER), expanding the lineup of the dedicated electric vehicle brand Ioniq, developing hybrid technology and expanding the lineup, and improving the mix centered on SUVs and high value-added models to expand market share and enhance profitability."
