Kori Nuclear Power Headquarters has delivered a total of 50 million KRW, covering research expenses for indoor seed cultivation technology and the purchase of cultivation equipment.
Notably, in addition to the research kits for developing indoor seaweed cultivation technology that were previously supported, this project plans to additionally provide research kits for Stichopus japonicus development for the first time. Through this, research results from the development of indoor seed transplantation technology will be offered to local fishermen.
Kori Nuclear Power Headquarters has been conducting the 'Gijang-type Seaweed Seed Production Technology Support Project' for six years. In December last year, it succeeded in producing 314 trays of seaweed seeds and 139 trays of Undaria pinnatifida seeds, which were provided to local fishermen.
Jung Jaerak, Head of External Cooperation at Kori Nuclear Power Headquarters, said, “Kori Nuclear Power Headquarters will continue to actively carry out support projects for local residents and do our utmost as a leading local public enterprise to revitalize the local economy.”
