All Major Domestic Webtoon Platform Works
‘Lore Olympus’, ‘Gobaekhagi 30 Bun Jeon’ and More
Works serialized on major domestic webtoon platforms such as Naver Webtoon, Kakao Entertainment, and Ridibooks have been named on the nominee list for the Ringo Awards, one of the top three comic awards in the United States.
According to the Ringo Awards website on the 31st, the works competing in this year's Best Webcomic category include seven titles: "30 Minutes Before Confession," "The Man Upstairs," "Hungry Heart," "I'm Dating a Psychopath," "Lore Olympus," "Nevermore," and "Senorita Cometa." All of these are works released on overseas platforms operated by domestic webtoon platform companies.
Among them, five titles, including "Lore Olympus," which won this category in 2022 and last year, are serialized on the webtoon platform of Naver Webtoon's English service. "30 Minutes Before Confession" is available on Manta, Ridibooks' global service, and "Hungry Heart" meets readers on Tapas, Kakao Entertainment's North American platform.
In the Best Humor Webcomic category, works from Naver Webtoon and Ridibooks' overseas services also joined in large numbers. Two Manta serialized works, "The Demon King is Disguised as a Princess" and "The Teacher is Rated 9+," and three webtoon serialized works, "Blue Chair" and "Vibe Check!," are among the nominees.

The Ringo Awards were established to honor comic artist Mike Wieringo, who drew Marvel Comics' "Spider-Man" and "Fantastic Four." The awards have been presented since 2017. The winners will be announced on September 21 at the Baltimore Comic-Con event.
