Jungnang-gu Promotes 'Dabom Project' for Public-Private Cooperative Welfare Safety Net
On the 30th, the Korea Association of Certified Realtors Jungnang-gu Branch Signed a Business Agreement
One-Stop Process from Discovery to Welfare Support through Interdepartmental Collaboration
Jungnang-gu (District Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) took a step to establish a human safety net by signing a business agreement on the 30th with the Jungnang-gu branch of the Korea Association of Realtors for the ‘Dabom Project.’
The Dabom Project means ‘Together! Without gaps! Neighbor care,’ and it is a project that proactively responds to neighbors in crisis through cooperation with local licensed realtors.
This initiative was promoted as the safety of socially isolated neighbors and vulnerable groups emerged as a social issue.
The Jungnang-gu branch of the Korea Association of Realtors formed the ‘Neighbor Love Village Care Team,’ which regularly patrols various neighborhoods on the 24th of every month.
The Neighbor Love Village Care Team consists of 5 to 10 members per dong branch, who inspect mail such as utility bills and delinquency notices that have been left in mailboxes for a long time to identify and report households in crisis. The district plans to improve urban aesthetics by replacing or newly installing damaged mailboxes while finding and supporting households in need of welfare benefits.
Additionally, licensed realtors patrol the surroundings frequently when visiting sites for real estate contracts to ensure no households in crisis are overlooked, utilizing various patrol methods. Once a household in crisis is discovered, it is reported immediately through the Real Estate Information Division’s KakaoTalk channel to enable prompt response and support.
They also actively cooperate in preventing damage to vulnerable groups to achieve ‘Zero Flood Damage.’ When brokering transactions for semi-basement houses, realtors directly check whether flood prevention facilities are installed and actively guide and encourage installation if they are not.
Landlords or tenants who wish to install flood prevention facilities can visit the Jungnang-gu Office Real Estate Information Division to apply. Subsequently, through interdepartmental collaboration, support is provided in a one-stop manner from application review to free installation of flood prevention facilities.
