World No. 16 Kim Ji-su lost by ippon after an overtime match against Croatia's Katarina Kristo (World No. 12) in the women's 63kg quarterfinals held on the 30th at the Champ de Mars arena in Paris, France.

Kim Ji-su tried to decide the match with ground techniques. However, neither athlete scored during the regular time (4 minutes), leading to an overtime (golden score) period.
In overtime, when Kim Ji-su lost her balance, Kristo fell backward and spun Kim Ji-su around once. After video review, an ippon victory was awarded.
