'If you type "Donald," does "duck" appear?'... Musk says "Google search is strange"
Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, raised suspicions about the Google search autocomplete feature related to former President Trump. Musk recently publicly declared his support for Donald Trump, the Republican candidate.
According to NBC News on the 30th (local time), Musk posted several messages about this on X (formerly Twitter), the social media platform he owns.
Musk criticized Google's search autocomplete feature.
He said that when typing 'assassination attempt of' or 'president Donald' into the Google search bar, the top autocomplete suggestion does not show Trump.
He claimed that when typing 'assassination attempt of' in the Google search bar, the autocomplete suggestions include former President Ronald Reagan or Jamaican-born composer and singer Bob Marley, and when typing 'president Donald,' the word 'Duck' appears at the top line.
Donald Trump Jr., the eldest son of former President Trump, also posted on X, "Big tech companies are trying to interfere in the election again to help Kamala Harris (Vice President). We know this is Google's intentional election interference," and Musk shared this message as well.
Musk also claimed that Google has imposed a 'search restriction' on the word Trump, causing it not to appear as an autocomplete suggestion for some users, and this post has surpassed 8 million views.
