Fencers Oh Sang-wook and shooter Oh Ye-jin, who won their first individual gold medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics, will receive luxury watches.
Earlier, the Swiss luxury watch brand Omega promised, "We will gift the 'Paris Olympics Edition watches' to the male and female South Korean athletes who win the first individual gold medals at the Paris Olympics." Omega, the official Olympic timekeeper (a sponsor responsible for measuring competition times at sporting events) since 1932, has been presenting Omega watches to the first gold medalists of each Games since the 2012 London Summer Olympics. At the 2024 Paris Olympics, fencer Oh Sang-wook and shooter Oh Ye-jin, who brought South Korea its first gold medals, became the owners of these watches. On the 27th (local time), Oh Sang-wook defeated Pares Ferjani (Tunisia) 15-11 in the men's sabre final held at the Grand Palais in Paris, winning his first Olympic individual gold medal. Oh Ye-jin also won the gold medal in the 10m air pistol event after a fierce competition with senior teammate Kim Ye-ji until the very end.

At the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, speed skater Lee Sang-hwa was the recipient, while at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games, the men's archery team received the watches.
