Gwangju City "Enjoy Cultural Activities with Your Pets"
'Gwangju History and Folklore Museum Special Pet-Friendly Viewing Week' Operation
Special Exhibition Viewing from August 13 to 18 and 'Art Picnic' Event on the 31st
Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kang Ki-jung) announced on the 29th that it will operate the "Gwangju History and Folklore Museum Special Viewing Week with Pets" from August 13 to 18, ahead of "World Dog Day (August 26)."
During this period, visitors can view the special exhibition "Gwangju Loved [] and Hallyu" held in the first-floor special exhibition hall of the Gwangju History and Folklore Museum together with their pets.
When visiting with pets, visitors must use individual carriers or dog strollers that one person can carry and move. Citizens who do not have these can use dog strollers and waste pads free of charge in the entrance and exit lobby.
Additionally, at the "Gyeonsaeng Ne Cut" instant photo booth installed in the first-floor lobby, pet families can take and print commemorative photos for free. Visitors who post verification photos on Instagram after viewing will receive handmade pet treats.
To prevent the increase of abandoned animals during the vacation season and to promote adoption, an "Abandoned Animal Adoption Campaign Photo Exhibition" under the theme "Become a Family for Abandoned Animals" will also be held in the first-floor lobby.
On August 31, an "Art Picnic with Pets" will be held on the lawn of the History and Folklore Museum. This event is linked with the urban cultural art picnic "Art Picnic" and will feature various activities that families can enjoy together, such as pet behavior correction, walking education, agility, and play experience booths.
