Gyeonggi-do Selects Siheung and Yangpyeong as 'Food Bank and Market of the Year'
Gyeonggi Province has selected two locations, Siheung Food Bank Market Center and Yangpyeong County Basic Food Bank, as the ‘Excellent Food Banks and Markets of the Year.’
Since 2022, Gyeonggi Province has been selecting outstanding basic business sites once a year based on their donation supply performance to boost morale and revitalize projects, providing incentives accordingly.
Siheung Food Bank Market Center was chosen as the top site for achieving 1.9 billion KRW in donation supply performance, operating during nighttime hours, signing agreements to support local fresh vegetables, and efforts to improve service quality through fresh agricultural product support projects.
Yangpyeong County Basic Food Bank was selected as the second place site for securing stable donors through developing new donation sources and maintaining existing ones, actively identifying users in welfare blind spots, and providing customized user policies considering the wide regional characteristics, such as outreach distribution services.
Gyeonggi Province will provide 20 million KRW to Siheung Food Bank Market Center to improve facility conditions and award both the certification plaque and the Governor’s Commendation. Yangpyeong County Basic Food Bank will also receive a certification plaque and the Governor’s Commendation.
