Incheon City Improves Traffic at 12 Locations Including Right-Turn Lane Expansion at Namhang Intersection
Incheon City announced on the 29th that it will implement a total of 12 Traffic System Management (TSM) improvement projects, including the expansion of the right-turn lane at Namhang Intersection in Jung-gu.
The traffic operation improvement projects aim to efficiently enhance existing roads and traffic facilities to resolve traffic congestion and safety issues caused by increased traffic demand and insufficient facility supply.
The project sites were selected by recommending candidate locations in consultation with the National Police Agency and the Road Traffic Authority, focusing on areas with frequent accidents or complaints. After undergoing traffic safety review by the National Police Agency and road management review by the relevant district office, a total of 12 sites were finalized. This year, a total of 250 million KRW will be invested, with construction scheduled to begin in September.
Key improvements include reducing the straight-through lane at Namhang Intersection in Jung-gu to secure a right-turn lane, and adding a left-turn signal at the three-way intersection behind the back gate of Gyeyang Elementary School. Additionally, colored guide lines, pavement directional markings, and signs will be installed.
