Ilsong Academy Foundation announced on the 26th that the autobiography of the late Chairman Doheon Yoon Daewon, who contributed to the development of domestic medicine and devoted himself to the vulnerable, titled Mighty Doctor, has been published. The title of the autobiography signifies the value-oriented direction that all doctors should aspire to.
Chairman Yoon succeeded his father, the late Ilsong Yoon Deokseon, founder of Ilsong Academy Foundation, and was inaugurated as the second chairman in February 1989. Since then, he managed Hallym University Medical Center, Hallym University, Hallym Sacred Heart University, Hallym International Graduate School, and six welfare centers for 35 years.
The autobiography, which reflects his life from childhood to the age of 79, includes stories of his difficult childhood during wartime, his biological specimen collecting activities that instilled a reverence for life, his struggles as a surgeon to save lives, and his experiences establishing hospitals and operating universities and welfare centers.
In particular, it contains previously unknown stories about the onset of hepatitis, diagnosis of liver cancer, and the process of liver transplantation during the time he was known as a renowned doctor on Deokjeokdo Island. The book showcases his spirit of challenge and conviction in overcoming adversity and hardship.
