The district remodeled the former Bukgajwa Police Substation to create an independent space dedicated to supporting single-person households. The center covers an area of 145㎡ and consists of a communication space called the "Single Bungle Sarangbang," as well as lecture rooms, counseling rooms, and offices. Operating hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays, and it is also open during weekday evenings and Saturdays when programs are held.
At this center, counseling is provided to support interpersonal relationships and emotional well-being for single-person households, along with content aimed at self-care, strengthening life skills, and building social networks. Detailed programs include Han(1)ultari, Counseling Mentoring, Healing Won(1)hae, Discovery of Preferences, Ingredient Sharing, Home Repair Education, Cooking Classes, and Walking Tours.
The proportion of single-person households in Seodaemun-gu was approximately 39.9% based on 2022 Statistics Korea data, ranking 11th among the 25 autonomous districts of Seoul, with 54,288 households ranking 16th in number, and the number is steadily increasing. Due to the many universities in the area, the youth population is the highest, but the growth rate of middle-aged and elderly people aged 50 and above is also notable.
