Yeongdeok County and Yeongdeok Police Station Conduct Simulation Training for Unusual Civil Complaints
Yeongdeok County in North Gyeongsang Province conducted a joint "Simulation Training for Unusual Civil Complaints" with the Yeongdeok Police Station on the 24th at the General Civil Affairs Processing Department in the government building, in order to effectively respond to illegal acts such as verbal abuse and assault that may occur during the civil complaint administration process.

The simulation training followed the government's manual for responding to unusual civil complaints, assuming actual emergency situations and checking response procedures. The training included: active intervention by supervisors in case of verbal abuse by a complainant; recording after prior notice if verbal abuse continues or assault occurs; activating the emergency bell connected to the 112 police station; isolating the affected civil servant from the offending complainant; and handing over the unusual complainant to the police upon their arrival.
County Governor Kim Kwangyeol stated, "Protecting civil affairs officers both mentally and physically is the most basic condition for providing better civil complaint administration to residents," and added, "We will establish a system that responds quickly and effectively to the increasing number of unusual civil complaints each year, so that civil affairs officers can focus on their duties in a safe environment."
To ensure the safety of civil affairs officers, Yeongdeok County last year replaced all acrylic partitions at civil service counters with fixed reinforced glass and supplied all civil affairs officers with ID card cases equipped with recording functions.
