View original imageThe Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education is establishing a special task force (TF) for the 'Future University Entrance Exam Reform' and will begin full-scale activities starting from the 30th of this month.
Lim Tae-hee, Superintendent of Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, previously emphasized on the 19th, "The future of Korean education depends on the reform of university entrance exams," adding, "With the belief that our education's future lies in changing the university entrance exams, we will begin concrete preparations."
The task force is composed of internal members including the Director of the Education Policy Bureau as the head, the Policy Planning Officer, the Curriculum Policy Division, the Career and Vocational Education Division, the Public Relations Planning Officer, and external members such as the Gyeonggi Education Research Institute, teachers, expert groups, and parents.
The Office of Education will hold the first meeting of the task force at the Southern Office building on the 30th. Superintendent Lim Tae-hee will also attend this meeting to provide guidance on the necessity and direction of improving the future university entrance system and to encourage the members.
An official from the Office of Education stated, "The task force will actively strive to lead proposals for improving university entrance exams that restore the essence of education and prepare for the future, and to build a national consensus."

Meanwhile, the Office of Education is separately conducting research in cooperation with the Gyeonggi Education Research Institute on 'Plans to Reform the University Entrance System for Normalizing School Curriculums' and 'Analysis of University Entrance System Issues to Enhance High School Educational Competence.'
