Jangseong-gun Begins Preparations for Next Year's Jeonnam Sports Festival... Confirmed for April 18-21
Jangseong County has received approval from the Jeollanam-do Sports Council for the duration of the 64th Jeonnam Sports Festival and has begun full-scale preparations.
The county confirmed the period of the 64th Jeonnam Sports Festival to be from April 18 to 21 next year, and on the 22nd, held an executive committee meeting to share the preparation status and discuss major issues, the county announced on the 24th.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Kim Han-jong, Jangseong County Governor and executive committee chairman, with 26 members attending, including Lee Jae-yang, Jangseong Education Director, and Yoon Si-seok, Sports Council President.
After reports on the confirmed festival period and the status of symbol selections, opinions were exchanged regarding measures to secure accommodation facilities for the athletes.
The committee members expressed their views after receiving a report from the responsible department on plans to expand available accommodation facilities.
Referring to the accommodation utilization plans presented that day, the county will prepare alternatives and continue discussions on other issues such as transportation and parking measures through the executive committee. Additionally, based on the Sports Council’s inspection results of the venues, plans to improve the facilities will also be established.
Executive Committee Chairman Kim Han-jong said, “For a well-prepared event, smooth communication among members and proactive alternative measures are necessary,” adding, “Let us pool our capabilities to prepare so that it will be remembered as a sports festival of harmony and inspiration for Jeonnam athletes.”
Meanwhile, the county recently held a judging committee for the 64th Jeonnam Sports Festival symbols and selected the event mark, mascot, poster, slogan, and motto.
They plan to revise and supplement these to reflect the characteristics of Jangseong and apply for approval from the Jeollanam-do Sports Council within this month.
