Suwon City to Unveil Great Book Featuring Stories of 1,000 Citizens at Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival This October
View original imageA citizen documentary titled "Great Book: Citizen Ildeukrok," capturing the stories of 1,000 residents of Suwon City, Gyeonggi Province, is being produced.
Suwon City announced on the 24th that it will begin filming citizen interviews this month and plans to complete the Citizen Ildeukrok as a Suwon citizen documentary by October.
Citizen Ildeukrok, an original program of the 61st Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival, is a media exhibition that modernly interprets King Jeongjo's collection of sayings "Ildeukrok" (日得錄) and the painting "Chaekgado" (冊架圖), which King Jeongjo loved.
The Suwon Village Media Union's citizen VJs will interview 1,000 citizens to create a "human book documentary."
The stories of 1,000 Suwon citizens will be specially performed at the 61st Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival. It can be experienced at Hwaseong Haenggung Square from noon to 9 p.m. between October 4 and 6.

A Suwon City official stated, "We have begun the grand journey of the Great Book containing the stories of 1,000 Suwon citizens," adding, "You will be able to experience the Ildeukrok of Suwon citizens created with citizens as the main agents."
