Gwangju Seo-gu to Operate Urban Park Water Playgrounds Until the 18th of Next Month
Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, will operate water play areas at Sangmu Citizen's Park and Ssanghak Children's Park from the 23rd of this month to the 18th of next month.
According to Seo-gu on the 22nd, the water play areas will be open free of charge from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends, and will be closed on Mondays for facility inspections and thorough cleaning.
Seo-gu plans to manage water quality by changing the water daily, refilling with fresh water, and cleaning the surroundings, as well as cleaning the retention tanks at least once a week.
In addition, safety management will be strengthened to prevent accidents caused by overcrowding of water play area users.
Seo-gu will assign four safety management personnel who have completed emergency response training, including action guidelines and cardiopulmonary resuscitation, to the water play areas.
Kim Ikang, head of Seo-gu Office, said, “The urban park water play areas where children can enjoy with their families right in front of their homes are a hot place in Seo-gu to escape the heat,” and added, “We will do our best to ensure safety management so that residents can have a happy and enjoyable summer.”
