Lunit Supplies 'Insight MMG' for Qatar National Breast Cancer Screening
Medical AI company Lunit announced on the 22nd that it will supply its AI breast cancer screening solution, Lunit Insight MMG, to the national breast cancer screening project led by the Qatar Public Health Care Corporation (PHCC).
This Qatar contract is described as the first case in which Lunit has fully introduced AI technology into the national breast cancer screening program in a Middle Eastern country. Qatar PHCC recommends women aged 45 to 69 to undergo breast cancer screening every three years through the national breast cancer screening program called 'Screen for Life.' The introduction of Lunit's solution is expected to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of screening through AI, contributing to the early detection of breast cancer among Qatari women.
Through this supply, Lunit Insight MMG will be included in Qatar's national breast cancer screening workflow, where two radiologists will each interpret mammography images while referring to the analysis results provided by Lunit Insight MMG.
Sheikha Abu Sheikha, head of the Early Cancer Detection Program at Qatar PHCC, stated, “The introduction of AI technology will enable rapid identification and early interpretation of suspected breast cancer cases, greatly improving diagnostic efficiency.” She added, “We expect this AI adoption to be a stepping stone for advancing Qatar’s cancer screening healthcare policy to the next level.”
