Anseong Woldongcheon River Renovated with 20 Billion Won... River Width Expanded to 25~40m
The Woldongcheon improvement project in Anseong, Gyeonggi Province has been completed.
Gyeonggi Province announced on the 22nd that the 'Woldongcheon Local Stream Improvement Project,' carried out in the area from Sangjung-ri, Geumgwang-myeon to Osan-ri, Geumgwang-myeon in Anseong City, was finished on the 15th.
Woldongcheon in Anseong City is a place where houses were flooded due to a levee collapse in 2006, leaving local residents with damage and anxiety during heavy rains.
The local stream improvement project is implemented for flood control purposes, targeting areas urgently needing flood damage prevention by raising levees or widening waterways.
Gyeonggi Province invested a total of 20 billion KRW in this Woldongcheon local stream improvement project, starting construction in December 2019, and maintained a 1.8 km section of the stream.
As a result of the improvement project, the width of the stream, which was originally 15 to 20 meters, was expanded to 25 to 40 meters, allowing the area to avoid flood damage even during localized heavy rains.
