Jungnang-gu to Host 2024 Korea-China-Japan 3 Districts Youth Sports Friendship Exchange
Youth Badminton Matches with Athletes from Dongseong-gu, China and Meguro-ku, Japan from 22nd to 26th
Introducing Various District Facilities and Providing Cultural Experiences to Promote Mutual Friendship
Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) is hosting a friendly sports exchange event for youth from Korea, China, and Japan.
From the 22nd to the 26th, the district will hold a youth sports exchange event involving three districts (Korea - Jungnang-gu, China - Dongsheng District, Japan - Meguro-ku), welcoming 68 representatives and athletes from each city.
Jungnang-gu, Dongsheng District, and Meguro-ku actively engaged in youth sports exchanges by hosting the "3-District Basketball Tournament" sequentially in each city from 2017 to 2019, but the event was temporarily suspended due to COVID-19.
This sports exchange event marks the resumption after five years since the 2019 basketball tournament, aiming to strengthen mutual friendship and promote joint development among the three districts.
During the five-day schedule, the visiting delegation will participate in sports events and visit key facilities in the district. The district plans to introduce major facilities such as ▲Jungnang Yangwon Media Center ▲Bang Jeong-hwan Education Support Center ▲Environmental Education Center ▲Jungnang Sports Climbing Center ▲Onggi Theme Park, and provide various cultural experiences at each facility.
The sports event will feature badminton. The athlete teams consist of second-year middle school students from each city, with 16 participants per city. Notably, instead of competing as separate city teams, players from the three districts will form integrated teams to participate in the matches.
