Silla University LINC 3.0 Project Group Signs MOU with Slovak Ministry of Education and Five Universities
Strengthening Global Industry-Academia Cooperation
Laying the Foundation for Expansion into Europe
The LINC 3.0 Project Group of Silla University (President Hur Namsik) has pledged cooperation with the Ministry of Education of Slovakia and five local universities to develop and operate industry-academia-research-friendly curricula.
On the 11th, the LINC 3.0 Project Groups from 13 universities in the southeastern region, including Silla University, departed for Bratislava, Slovakia. There, they participated in the "2024 Academic Year Southeastern RISE Project Response Strategy Establishment and Industry-Academia-Region Cooperation Benchmarking Overseas Training Program" and signed a memorandum of understanding with the Slovak Ministry of Education and five universities.
During a meeting with the Slovak Minister of Education, the delegation introduced industry-academia-research-friendly education in both countries and agreed to share educational programs that incorporate the latest technologies and trends through industry-academia cooperation.
A university official stated that this agreement with Slovakia, which is strengthening global industry-academia cooperation by operating multilateral international programs, is expected to serve as a foundation for academic exchanges and joint industry-academia research with various European countries.
Lee Beomjin, head of the Silla University LINC 3.0 Project Group who attended the event, said, "It will be a great opportunity to benchmark the advanced industry-academia-region cooperation of Europe, a leader in this field, as well as strategies for nurturing future talent and regional settlement. Through this MOU, we expect to mutually support the cultivation of global talent and to help establish response strategies for each type of RISE project."

The Silla University LINC 3.0 Project Group is supporting companies and talent development by establishing Industrial Cooperation Centers (ICC) in intelligent materials, parts and equipment, pet tech, and bio-healthcare. The group is also striving to foster practical talent through on-site training, capstone design, employment and entrepreneurship education, and the operation of modular convergence majors.
