Following last year, the Sseudam Filter Campaign is being conducted for the second consecutive year as part of 'Sseudam Seoul: Season 4,' a project Korea Philip Morris is running with the Environmental Foundation. Citizen crews engage in plogging by searching for rainwater drains and picking up trash, and conduct awareness-raising art work to prevent illegal dumping of waste.
This year, the activity area has expanded throughout Seoul, and the number of activities has increased. The company also explained that it collaborated with well-known illustrators to further amplify the positive influence of the campaign.
Citizen participation rates have nearly tripled compared to last year, and the re-participation rate from previous cohorts reached 25%. The 60 citizen crew members selected through a competitive process will volunteer every Saturday for about six months from May to November.
