Seung-yeol Noh entered the ‘Top 10’ for the first time in 7 years.
On the 14th (local time), at the final round of the PGA Tour ISCO Championship (total prize money $4 million) held at Kirtace Golf Club (par 72, 7,328 yards) in Nicholasville, Kentucky, USA, he surged with a 7-under-par to jump to a tie for 6th place (20-under-par 268). It was his first top 10 finish in a PGA Tour event since May 2017, when he tied for 5th at the Wells Fargo Championship, marking a gap of 7 years and 2 months. This is his best result in just 5 tournaments in 2024. His entry order for PGA Tour events this season has been pushed back, limiting his participation in many tournaments.
Noh started tied for 28th and recorded 9 birdies and 2 bogeys. In the first 4 holes, he exchanged 2 birdies for 2 bogeys, failing to reduce his score. He changed the momentum by making two pairs of consecutive birdies on holes 5-6 and 8-9. In the back nine, he added 3 more birdies on holes 11, 14, and 15. He relied on an average driving distance of 330.60 yards (tied 3rd) and a greens in regulation rate of 77.78% (tied 4th) as his driving forces.
Harry Hall added 3-under-par to tie with Jack Blayre (both from England), Matthew Nesmith, Pearson Kudi (both from the USA), and Rico Hoi (Philippines) at 22-under-par 266. On the third hole of the sudden-death playoff at the 9th hole (par 3), Hall made the ‘winning birdie’ to claim his first victory after joining the regular tour last year in his 58th tournament. The winner’s prize money was $720,000 (approximately 1 billion KRW).
