BPA Publishes '2023 Busan Port Container Cargo Handling and Transport Statistics' Booklet
Busan Port Authority (BPA) has published the "2023 Busan Port Container Cargo Handling and Transportation Statistics" booklet.
The approximately 70-page Busan Port statistics booklet utilizes data from PORT-MIS (Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries), Chain Portal (BPA), terminal operators, KORAIL, and the Korea Maritime Institute, among others, to provide a wide range of basic statistics on Busan Port's cargo handling performance, operational status, and key domestic and international ports.
In particular, reflecting the opinions of Busan Port users such as shipping companies, cargo owners, and academia, the booklet includes infographics at the beginning so that readers can visually grasp the 2023 cargo volume at a glance.
Additionally, the booklet has been updated with the latest information such as the opening of new terminals at Busan New Port, and includes content such as total revenue generated from the arrival of a single container ship, to help port users efficiently utilize statistics and support the formulation of port policies.
The statistics booklet is composed of four chapters in total.
Chapter 1 covers annual export, import, and transshipment cargo handling performance at Busan Port, as well as container handling performance by country and region, allowing readers to easily understand the port’s annual growth trends.
Chapter 2 provides detailed information on Busan Port’s terminal facilities, new port development plans, hinterland status, and regular shipping routes, offering a clear understanding of the port’s current status and future development plans.
Chapter 3 contains cargo handling performance and status data for major ports nationwide.
Chapter 4 presents systematic statistical information on Busan Port’s global competitiveness and the overall shipping, port, and logistics industry, including cargo volumes at major global ports and terminal operators, as well as the fleet status of shipping companies.
BPA President Kang Junseok stated, “The Busan Port statistics booklet is designed so that anyone can easily understand and utilize its content,” adding, “We will continue to provide accurate and reliable statistical data tailored to the needs of Busan Port users, so that it can serve as an important foundational resource for the development of the shipping and port industry and the establishment of national port policies.”
The Busan Port statistics booklet will be available for viewing from July 12 on the 'Busan Port Authority Statistics' KakaoTalk channel and the Busan Port Authority website.
