Gwangju Gyeongchong Establishes Comprehensive Response Center for Major Accidents
The Gwangju Employers' Association announced on the 10th that it will officially begin operating the Gwangju-Jeonnam Comprehensive Center for Serious Accident Response.
The Comprehensive Center for Serious Accident Response provides various support and services to minimize human casualties and property damage caused by serious accidents and to create a safe working environment. The Korea Employers Federation officially launched it last March.
The main tasks include ▲designating and training safety and health officers for small businesses (fewer than 50 employees) ▲consulting on risk assessments and supporting improvements ▲supporting the creation of industrial safety manuals ▲distributing industrial safety manuals and guides ▲operating serious accident prevention training courses for business owners ▲promoting win-win safety and health cooperation activities among large, medium, and small enterprises.

Yang Jin-seok, chairman of the Gwangju Employers' Association, said, “Through the establishment of this center, we plan to support the establishment of a safety culture in cooperation with local companies and build a system that can respond quickly and effectively in the event of a serious accident.” He added, “Going forward, the Employers' Association will continue to do its best to build safe workplaces and create healthy working environments within local companies.”
