The opposition condemned President Yoon Seok-yeol's exercise of the veto power on the Special Prosecutor Act for Cha Sang-byeong on the 9th as an "act that fuels the anger of the people."
On the same day, Park Chan-dae, acting leader of the Democratic Party of Korea and floor leader, along with opposition lawmakers, held an "Emergency Rally to Condemn the Veto on the Special Prosecutor Act for the Fallen Marine" at the National Assembly main building in Yeouido, Seoul, criticizing President Yoon's abuse of veto power.
Floor leader Park said, "The Yoon Seok-yeol administration has declared war on the people. It committed a violent act by exercising veto power against the Special Prosecutor Act for the Marines, which contains the people's mandate and the bereaved families' wishes."
He added, "No matter how much they try to suppress and hide it, the truth cannot be concealed forever," and warned, "They cannot deceive the people's eyes forever. If they continue to focus solely on covering up crimes as they do now, they will face harsh judgment."

Meanwhile, the National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee decided to hold two hearings on the 19th and 26th regarding the public petition requesting the initiation of impeachment proceedings against President Yoon Seok-yeol.
