The PGA of America, co-host of the Ryder Cup, announced on the 8th (local time) that Bradley has been selected as the captain of the 2025 U.S. Ryder Cup team. The Ryder Cup captain plays a role similar to a coach in team sports, selecting and managing the team and arranging the player matchups against the opposing team. The Ryder Cup is a golf competition between the United States and the European Union team, held every two years. Next September, it will take place at the Bethpage Black Course in Farmingdale, New York.
Bradley has won a total of six times on the PGA Tour, including the 2011 major tournament PGA Championship. He participated in the Ryder Cup in 2012 and 2014. The U.S. team suffered a heavy defeat to the European Union team, 16.5-11.5, at last October's Ryder Cup held in Italy. They are eager to avenge this loss at next year's home tournament.

Tiger Woods, the "Golf Emperor," was a strong candidate for this U.S. team captain position. However, Woods reportedly declined the captaincy due to other responsibilities, such as leading merger negotiations with LIV Golf as vice chairman of the PGA Tour Enterprises board. The European team appointed Luke Donald (England), who led them to victory in the previous tournament, as captain again for next year's event. Historically, the U.S. leads the head-to-head record with 27 wins, 2 draws, and 15 losses.
