BNK Gyeongnam Bank Signs Business Agreement for Carbon Neutrality and Energy Saving Practices
Spreading Awareness of Energy Conservation and Building a Carbon-Neutral Society
BNK Kyongnam Bank announced on the 8th that it has signed a 'Business Agreement for Practicing Carbon Neutrality and Energy Saving' with the Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters of Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO).
The signing ceremony for the business agreement for practicing carbon neutrality and energy saving was attended by BNK Kyongnam Bank Executive Director Lim Jaemun and KEPCO Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters Director Kim Jedong, among others.
According to the agreement, the two institutions will actively cooperate to contribute to building a carbon-neutral society by promoting awareness of energy consumption reduction and to vitalize ESG management.
To this end, BNK Kyongnam Bank added a condition last month to its 'BNK Withus Free Installment Savings' product, offering a preferential interest rate of 0.50% to customers participating in KEPCO's 'Energy Cashback' program.
In the future, the bank plans to launch a promotion that provides cash back to customers who use the eco-friendly consumption credit card 'Eodirodeun Green Card' and successfully participate in the Energy Cashback program.
The Energy Cashback program is a national participatory energy-saving initiative implemented by KEPCO to raise awareness of energy conservation and alleviate the burden of electricity bills. If the requirements are met, part of the next month's electricity bill can be discounted.
With the signing of the business agreement, customers who practice energy saving will be able to receive various benefits, such as discounts on electricity bills and preferential interest rates on BNK Kyongnam Bank's financial products.
Executive Director Lim said, "This business agreement will not only provide financial benefits to customers who practice energy saving, but also serve as a good example of practicing ESG together with our customers. We plan to continue implementing ESG management and take the lead in spreading awareness of energy consumption reduction and building a carbon-neutral society."
