Bosanjin-Roche Diagnostics Hold 'Diagnosis Day' to Expand Open Innovation
The Korea Health Industry Development Institute (KHIDI) announced on the 8th that it will hold the 'KHIDI-Roche Diagnostics Day' on the 9th to expand global cooperation in the fields of domestic digital diagnostics, molecular diagnostics, and digital pathology in collaboration with Roche Diagnostics Korea.
KHIDI has planned the New Impact Project (N.I.P) to expand global open innovation in the medical device sector, and as the first step, aims to create opportunities for global market entry by discovering partner companies in cooperation with Roche Diagnostics Korea. N.I.P is KHIDI's support project in the medical device field to promote open innovation between domestic and global companies and to discover successful cases.
This event will be held for domestic companies and consists of a seminar explaining global partnering strategies and key cases, followed by a pitching session to select Roche Diagnostics' domestic partner companies. In the first seminar session, Ki-won Kim, Executive Director of Kakao Ventures, will explain 'The Value of Cooperation between Domestic Medical Device Companies and Global Companies,' and Michael Johnston, Lead of Roche Diagnostics' Global Partnering Department, will introduce 'Global Partnering Strategies and Key Success Cases.' Then, a panel discussion will be held with experts from KHIDI, Roche Diagnostics Korea, Roche Diagnostics Global, Roche Diagnostics APAC, the Korean Society for Laboratory Medicine, Kakao Ventures, and other institutions under the theme of 'Expanding Global Market Entry of Medical Devices through Successful Partnering with Global Companies.'
In the second pitching session, presentations by nine companies that passed the document screening will be conducted. Through evaluation by Roche Diagnostics Korea and an expert panel, two companies that receive excellent evaluations in technology, business potential, and overseas expansion capabilities will be finally selected as cooperation partners. The selected companies will be awarded prize money according to their ranking and will receive various benefits such as consulting related to commercialization, overseas expansion, and overseas regulatory approval acquisition by Roche Diagnostics Korea experts, as well as support for Roche's global networking and matching programs. The pitching session will be held privately.
