Yuhan-Kimberly 'Kleenex 100th Anniversary'... Special Edition Release
Collaboration with Illustrator Saki
Over 30% Recycled Plastic Used in Packaging Materials
Yuhan-Kimberly announced on the 5th that it has launched a special edition to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Kleenex.
The special edition, created in collaboration with illustrator Saki, expresses the softness of Kleenex with warm-colored flowers. It is available as Silk Soft facial tissues and Silky Soft wet wipes.
Since introducing Kleenex facial tissues to Korea in 1971, Yuhan-Kimberly has contributed to improving the lifestyle culture and hygiene standards in the country. Kleenex facial tissues were evaluated as an “Iconic Brand,” meaning a top-tier brand within the top 3%, in a study commissioned last year by the market research firm Kantar.
Yuhan-Kimberly’s own research and development (R&D) center, the Seocho Research Institute, has a product innovation roadmap spanning over five years and creates customized products for Korean consumers. Last year, it successfully operated advanced tissue production facilities at its newly established Gimcheon plant, securing an annual supply capacity of 200,000 tons of tissue fabric.
Kleenex toilet paper and facial tissues use 100% natural pulp supplied through sustainable forest management to protect natural forests. To reduce new plastic usage, packaging applies more than 30% recycled plastic. The range of wet wipes using biodegradable or paper-based fabric has been expanded.

For roll toilet paper, the “Aquafresh” method, which bonds multiple layers of toilet paper using water that meets drinking water quality standards (set by the Ministry of Environment) instead of adhesive glue, is being applied sequentially. This is expected to contribute to reducing approximately 314 tons of carbon emissions.
