Kim Jae-hong, Professor at Kookmin University, Appointed as New Director of the National Museum of Korea
On the 4th, the Presidential Office appointed Kim Jae-hong (59), a professor at Kookmin University, as the new director of the National Museum of Korea.
Director Kim is an expert in Korean history who graduated from the Department of Korean History at Seoul National University and earned his master's and doctoral degrees from the same university's graduate school.
He began his museum career in 1993 as a research curator at the National Museum of Korea. He is a prominent expert in national cultural heritage and museums, having served as a research curator at the National Jeonju Museum, a visiting researcher at the National Museum of Japanese History and Folklore, the team leader of the National Naju Museum construction task force, and the director of the National Chuncheon Museum.
Later, he joined Kookmin University as a professor in the Department of Korean History (currently the Department of Korean History, College of Global Humanities and Regional Studies), dedicating himself to educating future scholars. He also served as the director of the newly renovated Myungwon Museum at Kookmin University.
