"Domestic US and Latin America Reservations OK"… Air Premia Partners with Alaska Airlines
Interline Agreement Signed and Connected Sales Launched
Purchase of Over 110 Domestic US Routes and Routes in 6 Latin American Countries
Air Premia now allows customers to purchase Alaska Airlines' domestic US routes and Latin American routes in one ticket.
On the 4th, Air Premia announced that it has signed an interline agreement with Alaska Airlines and started selling connecting tickets to the Americas. An interline agreement is a partnership where one airline sells flight segments operated by another airline as part of its own route network. Customers can conveniently use the service without having to check in or collect baggage during transfers.
Under this agreement, Air Premia passengers traveling to New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco in the US can purchase a single ticket covering over 110 domestic US routes operated by Alaska Airlines, as well as routes to six Latin American countries (Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Bahamas, Belize). Interline tickets have been available through travel agencies since the 4th.
However, due to US airport regulations, passengers transferring at a US airport after an international flight must collect their baggage and go through customs inspection. Conversely, when transferring from a US domestic flight to an international flight, passengers can receive their baggage at the final destination without collecting it at the transit point.
