Samsung D Laptop and Monitor Panels Receive 'Pantone Certification'... Industry First
Proving Excellence in IT Panels Following Last Year's Success with Large TV Panels
Samsung Display's panels for monitors and laptops have been recognized for their color reproduction accuracy by Pantone, a global color specialist company that sets worldwide color standards.
Samsung Display announced on the 4th that its panels for monitors and laptops have obtained the 'Pantone Color Certification' and 'Pantone SkinTone Certification.'
Samsung Display is the first in the display industry to receive Pantone certification for panels used in monitors and laptops. Following last year's achievement of the industry's first Pantone certification for TV QD-OLED panels (55, 65, 77 inches), this year the company has been recognized for excellent color reproduction in IT panels.

To obtain the 'Pantone Color Certification,' each of over 2,300 colors must be evaluated for accuracy based on Pantone color standards and meet a certain threshold. The 'Pantone SkinTone Certification' is also awarded only when more than 130 skin tones guided by the Pantone SkinTone Guide are accurately reproduced.
Ian Pike, Vice President and Head of Pantone Licensing, stated, "Samsung Display's panels for laptops and monitors have passed Pantone's rigorous testing and evaluation criteria. This means that content creators can accurately convey the colors they intended."
Samsung Display's OLED panels for laptops boast excellent color reproduction by using highly accurate colors emitted from organic materials. The QD-OLED panels for monitors incorporate quantum dots to complete a pixel structure composed solely of RGB primary colors, enabling precise color expression without interference from surrounding colors.
With this Pantone certification achievement, Samsung Display plans to further solidify its technological leadership in the rapidly growing IT OLED panel market. According to market research firm Omdia, the self-emitting panels market for laptops and monitors is expected to grow at an average annual rate of 64.9% and 12.3%, respectively, in terms of sales from this year through 2029.
