On the afternoon of the 2nd, heavy rain in the northern Gyeonggi region caused trees to fall and houses to be flooded, resulting in continuous damage.
The Northern Gyeonggi Fire and Disaster Headquarters reported that from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. that day, a total of 16 heavy rain damage reports were received from the northern Gyeonggi area.
The types of damage varied, including 9 cases of blocked drainage, 4 cases of fallen trees, 2 cases of road flooding, and 1 case of house flooding. Around 12:25 p.m., a stream in Daeja-dong, Deogyang-gu, Goyang-si, overflowed due to rising water. At 1:53 p.m., a road drainage outlet in Seongdong-ri, Tanhyeon-myeon, Paju-si was blocked.
At 1:31 p.m., a tree fell in Geumhyeon-ri, Gasan-myeon, Pocheon-si, damaging a transformer. At 2:10 p.m., a road next to Jayuro in Sannam-dong, Paju-si was flooded, and the fire authorities carried out drainage work.
As of 5 p.m. that day, the cumulative rainfall in the northern Gyeonggi region was recorded as 61 mm in Pocheon, 57 mm in Paju, 52.5 mm in Yangju (Baekseok-eup), 52.5 mm in Uijeongbu, 47.5 mm in Dongducheon, and 46.6 mm in Gapyeong.
