Gyeonggi Province announced on the 2nd that it will expand the existing expert-centered forum into a public forum linked with YouTube to also hear the opinions of Jeonse victims among residents. The forum, titled "Measures for the Prevention and Support of Jeonse Damage," will be held on the 9th at the Suwon Convention Center.
At the forum, Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Research Institute will present their efforts and future plans to respond to Jeonse damage, followed by discussions on systems for the prevention and support of Jeonse damage.
The specific discussion topics at the forum include government-wide institutional improvements covering legislation, administration, and judiciary, such as ▲strengthening punishment for Jeonse fraudsters ▲confiscation of Jeonse tenant deposits and restitution to victims ▲mandatory registration of Jeonse rights ▲activation of the real estate electronic contract system.
Gyeonggi Province plans to refine the forum discussions into policy research through the Gyeonggi Research Institute, prepare institutional improvement proposals, and recommend them to the National Assembly and other related organizations.
