Gwangjin-gu Supports Commuter Bus Operation for Daewon High School and Daewon Girls' High School
Targeting Daewon High School and Daewon Girls' High School... Shortened School Start Times and Enhanced Commuting Safety
Three Routes Organized Mainly for Students in Gwangjang-dong and Guui-dong with Limited Transportation
Vehicle Operating Costs Supported by the District, Daily Operation During Weekday School Hours in the Semester
Gwangjin-gu, Seoul (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) supports the operation of school buses to improve transportation convenience for students attending Daewon High School and Daewon Girls' High School.
Daewon High School (Principal Kim Yong-hak) and Daewon Girls' High School (Principal Lee Hyun-sook), located in Junggok-dong, have few direct bus routes from Gwangjang-dong and Guui-dong. Therefore, students had to transfer buses when commuting, causing inconvenience.
In response, the district reflected the opinions of students, parents, and schools to promote the school bus support project. This is a demand-oriented educational expense subsidy program targeting schools with poor commuting conditions. When the school signs a bus rental contract, the district office supports the operating expenses of the vehicles.
There are a total of three school bus routes: ▲ Daewon High School Bus No. 1 (opposite Cheonggu Apartment ~ Hyundai Apartment ~ Gwangnaru Station ~ Achasan Station) ▲ Daewon Girls' High School Bus No. 1 (Technomart ~ CU Gwangjang Branch ~ Hyundai 8 Complex ~ Gwangjang Geukdong 1st Complex ~ Gwangnaru Station) ▲ Daewon Girls' High School Bus No. 2 (Hyundai Prime ~ Hyundai 5 Complex ~ Gwangjang Geukdong 2nd Complex ~ Shindonga Famillier).
All routes are organized based on the residences of enrolled students. The buses operate from 7:30 AM to 7:50 AM on weekdays during the school semester to match school start times.
Students using the school buses responded positively, saying, "Thanks to the school bus, my morning commute time has decreased, allowing me to focus better on my studies," and "Commuting with classmates makes my parents feel reassured."
