Busan Urban Corporation Implements Emergency Duty Amid Heavy Rain Warning... Thorough Disaster Safety Measures
Establishing Disaster Safety Management Plan for Summer Disasters
Utilizing Safety Management Platform... CCTV Control Monitoring
From 7 p.m. on the 29th, when a heavy rain advisory was issued in the Busan area, Busan Metropolitan Corporation (BMC, President Kim Yonghak) announced on the 1st that it had successfully implemented disaster safety measures by responding in stages according to its disaster safety management plan.
According to the Busan Meteorological Administration, as of 9 a.m. on the 30th, the accumulated rainfall reached 89mm in Gijang-gun, 83.5mm in Saha-gu, 82mm in Haeundae-gu, 80mm in Geumjeong-gu, and 72mm in Busanjin-gu.
BMC establishes a disaster safety management plan every year to ensure a prompt and efficient response and recovery in the event of various disasters and safety accidents, and operates a comprehensive disaster safety situation room when weather advisories are issued.
In addition, the safety management platform (SMP), which was established last year to suit BMC's business environment, was actively utilized during this emergency duty.
BMC monitored the heavy rain situation and damage status at its sites and management facilities in real time through the SMP site CCTV control screens, minimizing flood damage in low-lying areas and landslides within its sites and facilities.
