Recorded Employee Commute Carbon Emissions... Hyundai Home Shopping Publishes ESG Report
Announcement of ESG Management Performance and Future Strategy
Hyundai Home Shopping announced on the 2nd that it has published the "Sustainability Management Report 2023," which contains the achievements and future strategies of its ESG management activities over the past year. The Hyundai Home Shopping Sustainability Management Report was prepared in accordance with the "International Standard Guidelines (GRI) Stand 2021" and includes performance and future plans in the areas of Environment (E), Social (S), and Governance (G).
The environmental section covers Hyundai Home Shopping's eco-friendly management and climate change response strategies. In particular, it measures and records 'other indirect emissions' such as carbon emissions generated from employees' commuting and delivery trucks during product distribution. It presents reduction targets for greenhouse gas emissions, energy use, waste generation, and water intake, and also includes plans to promote sustainable product sales and environmental campaigns.
In the social section, a human rights management policy aimed at protecting and respecting the human rights of stakeholders such as employees, customers, and partners was disclosed. Policies for sustainable supply chain management were also included. The results of the industry's first African clothing donation campaign were recorded as well. Approximately 10,000 customers participated in the campaign, delivering a total of 75,972 clothing items to residents of Tanzania, Africa.
In the governance section, the report contains details on the execution of the mid- to long-term dividend policy announced in 2021, which was carried out 100% for three consecutive years to enhance shareholder value, along with a new dividend policy. Earlier, Hyundai Home Shopping announced in February plans to change the existing "dividend record date first, dividend amount confirmed later" method to a "dividend amount first, dividend record date confirmed later" method to increase dividend stability and predictability.
