About 50 members of the Citizen Observation Group, selected through a public recruitment process, received their appointment certificates at the inauguration ceremony held at the auditorium of the Second Power Plant on the 27th and attended a special lecture on nuclear power by Professor Kim Moohwan. On the following day, the 28th, they participated in industrial safety training and hands-on practice at the Saeul Headquarters Industrial Safety Experience Center, and received a briefing on the construction status of Saeul Units 3 and 4 from the observatory overlooking the construction site.
They then visited the Saeul Unit 4 site, where construction is in full swing, toured key facilities such as the reactor, steam generator, and turbine generator, and had the opportunity to operate major equipment and experience the nuclear power plant emergency response system in the simulator room, which is identical to the main control room of Saeul Units 3 and 4.
Soh Youseop, Head of Saeul Nuclear Power Headquarters, said, "I hope that the Citizen Observation Group will serve as an opportunity to further enhance communication by transparently disclosing information on nuclear power plant construction," and added, "I hope you will actively express your opinions and show interest so that Saeul Units 3 and 4, the forward base for nuclear power plant exports, can be safely constructed and operated."
