Gangseo-gu Provides Up to 640,000 KRW in Psychological Counseling Vouchers for Depression and Anxiety
Starting Next Month, the 'Maeum Investment Support Project' Will Be Promoted
Gangseo-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon) will launch the “Mind Investment Support Project” from the 1st of next month, providing psychological counseling vouchers to residents experiencing emotional difficulties such as depression and anxiety.
The district offers psychological counseling services to residents facing emotional challenges like depression and anxiety. The counseling service is provided in the form of vouchers, and eligible individuals are those recognized as needing psychological counseling for depression or anxiety by mental health welfare centers, Wee Centers, and similar institutions.
The vouchers are provided on a sliding scale based on the median income level: ▲70% or below ▲over 70% to 120% or below ▲over 120% to 180% or below ▲over 180%, with support up to a maximum of 640,000 KRW.
A total of 8 counseling sessions are provided, with each session costing between 70,000 and 80,000 KRW. Any costs exceeding the voucher amount must be paid by the individual. Vouchers must be used within 120 days of issuance.
Psychological counseling institutions can be found on the Social Service Electronic Voucher website, and counseling can be received regardless of the resident’s place of residence. Applicants should bring a diagnosis or medical opinion indicating the need for psychological counseling and visit the community service center of their registered residential district.

The depression experience rate refers to the percentage of people who have felt sadness or despair severe enough to interfere with daily life for more than two weeks.
