Partnership with HD Marine Solution... Improved Navigation Efficiency through AI
Pan Ocean has decided to introduce marine artificial intelligence (AI) solutions to its liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers to manage onboard safety and carbon emissions.
On the 27th, Pan Ocean announced that it had jointly signed a 'Business Agreement for Applying AI Solutions for Onboard Safety Management and Carbon Emission Reduction' with HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering and HD Hyundai Marine Solutions.
First, Pan Ocean plans to apply the 'AI Onboard Safety Management Package Solution' developed by HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering to a 174,000㎥ class LNG carrier to verify its effectiveness. This solution consists of 'HiCBM,' which enhances predictive maintenance functions for key onboard equipment through real-time AI data analysis to prevent accidents, and 'HiCAMS,' which performs real-time AI analysis of onboard CCTV. The vessel involved in this demonstration is currently under construction at HD Hyundai Heavy Industries and is scheduled to be delivered to Pan Ocean around December.
Additionally, for carbon emission management, Pan Ocean will apply HD Hyundai Marine Solutions' 'OceanWise.' OceanWise is a solution that measures and predicts carbon emissions using only the vessel's location information through accumulated big data and AI algorithms, and derives the optimal navigation route to minimize fuel consumption. This is expected to improve vessel operational efficiency and reduce operating expenses (OPEX).
