Gwangju Nam-gu Council Member Accused of Sexual Harassment Against Female Employee... Investigation Launched
A basic council member in Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, is under suspicion of sexually harassing a female employee of the council secretariat, prompting the council to launch a fact-finding investigation.
According to the Nam-gu Council in Gwangju on the 26th, another employee, C, who overheard that Council Member A recently made sexually harassing remarks to female employee B of the council secretariat, reported it to the chairman of the Nam-gu Council, and an internal investigation is currently underway.
B claims that she heard sexually harassing remarks when she visited the council member's office with standing committee materials last May.
In response, the chairman gave a verbal warning to Council Member A, saying, "Refrain from making remarks that could cause discomfort to employees," and since B requested a change in her standing committee affiliation, her committee will be changed starting from July, when the second half of the basic council begins.
