IL Science Subsidiary Wins 9.3 Billion KRW Highway Hi-Pass System Aging Replacement Project
On the 26th, Aitronics, a subsidiary of iL Science, announced that it has won a 9.3 billion KRW contract from Korea Expressway Corporation for the manufacturing and purchasing (including installation) of an aged Hi-Pass differential lane system replacement project.
In this bid, Aitronics formed a consortium with Jinwoo ATS and successfully secured the contract, planning to complete all installations by the end of this year.
Hi-Pass is a system that pays highway tolls through communication using infrared or radio frequencies. A terminal with an inserted electronic card is installed in the vehicle, and when passing through a tollgate, the toll is automatically paid.
Using Hi-Pass allows vehicles to pass tollgates quickly and safely without stopping, improving traffic flow and reducing carbon emissions.
Previously, from 2022 to 2023, Aitronics successfully carried out the ‘C-ITS (Next-Generation Intelligent Transportation System) Communication Technology Demonstration Test Environment Construction Project’ commissioned by Korea Expressway Corporation.
In that project, Aitronics established the necessary systems and installation environments to objectively compare and demonstrate the performance of the two major communication technologies of C-ITS: WAVE (Wireless Access in Vehicular Environments) and LTE-V2X (Cellular Vehicle-to-Everything communication technology using mobile networks).
Additionally, Aitronics was selected last year for the national project ‘Future Vehicle Digital Convergence Industry Demonstration Platform Construction’.
