Gwangjin-gu Supports Frozen Egg Assisted Reproductive Technology Costs... Up to 2 Million KRW per Couple
Up to 1 Million KRW per Procedure, Maximum 2 Times, for Couples Attempting Pregnancy Using Frozen Eggs
Apply Within 3 Months After Procedure at Infertility Medical Institution by Visiting Gwangjin-gu Public Health Center Without Separate Prior Application
Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) will partially support the cost of 'assisted reproductive technology using frozen eggs' to help couples hoping to conceive and give birth.
Assisted reproductive technology using frozen eggs is a medical procedure that uses healthy eggs preserved in advance to maintain fertility when a woman wishes to conceive. Recently, due to the rising age of childbirth and the increasing proportion of older mothers, the demand for frozen egg procedures has significantly increased.
Accordingly, the district will support up to 1 million KRW per procedure, up to twice, for couples who have attempted pregnancy and childbirth using frozen eggs since April of this year.
Common-law couples who have maintained a de facto marital relationship for more than one year as of the application date are also included in the support target.
The support items include ▲thawing of frozen eggs ▲sperm collection ▲fertilization and confirmation ▲embryo culture and observation ▲post-procedure stage testing fees, etc. However, if diagnosed with infertility, only the egg thawing cost can be supported, and the remaining costs will be provided through the 'Infertile Couples Procedure Cost Support Project.'
Couples wishing to receive support can apply to the Gwangjin-gu Public Health Center within three months after the procedure at the infertility treatment medical institution without a separate prior application. For required documents and other detailed information, inquiries can be made to the Health Management Division of the Gwangjin-gu Public Health Center.
