Busan Buk-gu Association Kicks Off 1st Gwangdeok Moolsan Cup Jokgu Tournament
The winner of the foot volleyball tournament, held on the 23rd to commemorate the newly constructed artificial turf foot volleyball park under the riverside road at Hwamyeong Ecological Park by the Buk-gu Office in Busan, has been determined.
This tournament, with Gwangdeok Mulsan, a fashion outlet company, as the main sponsor supporting the event expenses, saw participation from over 35 teams and around 200 players and officials from more than 10 clubs, including Buk-gu’s own foot volleyball clubs and invited teams from other regions. The participants competed for the championship trophy in three divisions: Division 1, Division 2, and the 60s division.
Held under the title "The 1st Gwangdeok Mulsan Cup Artificial Turf Construction Commemorative Foot Volleyball Tournament," the event was co-hosted by Gwangdeok Mulsan Fashion Outlet and the Buk-gu Foot Volleyball Association, with the Buk-gu Foot Volleyball Association as the main organizer. The matches took place on four newly constructed artificial turf courts under the riverside road at Hwamyeong Ecological Park along the Nakdong River.

View original imageTeams were assigned based on skill level and age. In Division 1, which is the general level, "Busan JC" lifted the championship trophy. "Sangsin" took the runner-up spot, while "Jtop" and "Baekwoo" shared third place.
In Division 2, the invited team "Baekyang" from Sasang-gu claimed victory, with "Jtop A" as runner-up, and the newly joined club "Geonsamo" and the prestigious club "Jtop B" sharing third place.
In the 60s division, the championship trophy went to "Mujigae B," an exchange team from Gimhae City and Buk-gu, while the runner-up was "Hwamyeongcheonmu," a long-standing team from Buk-gu. "Geonsamo" and "Daecheon" both took third place.
With this, the newly established team "Geonsamo" drew attention by sending one team each to Division 2 and the 60s division, achieving third place in both.

View original imageOh Taewon, head of Buk-gu Office, said in his opening speech, "After much effort with former National Assembly members and others, the artificial turf stadium has been completed to promote foot volleyball and community sports in Buk-gu. As the field is newly constructed, the ball may not bounce perfectly yet, but as players get used to it, it will become a top-class foot volleyball stadium."
Jang Seyul, president of "Eoullim" Foot Volleyball Club, which participated for the first time as an invited team, said, "Thanks to the thoughtful consideration of the Buk-gu Foot Volleyball Association and the generosity of Gwangdeok Mulsan, this event became a festival not only for Buk-gu but for all foot volleyball enthusiasts in Busan." He expressed hope that the tournament would be held regularly.
Park Samcheol, president of the Busan Foot Volleyball Association, Lee Hyunwoo, vice president, and other officials from the Busan City Foot Volleyball Association attended the opening ceremony. They presented foot volleyballs and sponsorship funds to the Buk-gu Association, saying, "Starting from our country, the birthplace of the sport, we hope K-foot volleyball will spread worldwide as both a school and a community sport. We will work to broaden its base so that all citizens, young and old, can enjoy it."
