Boseong-gun Distributes State-of-the-Art Village Broadcast Receivers
Receiver Installation in 7,746 Households, Leading Communication Administration
Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that from June this year until December, it will invest a total project cost of about 2 billion KRW to distribute the ‘state-of-the-art village broadcasting indoor receivers’ to 7,746 households in 242 villages.
This project recognizes the difficulty of accurately delivering outdoor speaker broadcasts indoors due to residents living in hearing-impaired areas or houses with double-glazed windows, as well as many elderly residents experiencing difficulties in listening, and has taken steps to solve these problems.

The ‘state-of-the-art village broadcasting indoor receiver’ has a recording function that allows users to listen to up to 10 missed broadcasts again, and also provides various convenience features such as solar and lunar calendars, time, and temperature.
In particular, it clearly delivers administrative matters, farming information, and weather information inside the house to minimize information deprivation among vulnerable groups, and is expected to greatly help protect lives and property by quickly transmitting disaster and emergency alerts that require immediate response in case of emergencies.
Households that have not yet applied can do so at the Eup/Myeon Administrative Welfare Center (town office), and the additionally applied ‘state-of-the-art village broadcasting indoor receivers’ are planned to be installed by 2025.
Kim Seon-gu from Jungsan 1-ri, Ungchi-myeon said, “When I enter the house, the soundproofing is so good that it was difficult to understand the village broadcasts, but with the installation of the indoor receiver, I can hear clearly even inside the house, which is great.” He added, “It feels like there is one more listening ear that allows Boseong-gun and residents to communicate.”
Kim Cheol-woo, the governor of Boseong-gun, said, “It is expected that the state-of-the-art village broadcasting indoor receiver will enable more convenient and stable information delivery.” He added, “We will do our best to continuously discover hearing-impaired areas in village broadcasts so that no residents miss out on administrative support from Boseong-gun or have difficulty responding to disasters and emergencies.”
Meanwhile, in 2022, Boseong-gun established a ‘Smart Village Broadcasting System’ that allows residents to listen to broadcasts via mobile phones or home phones, and residents can also call directly to listen again to broadcasts they missed in real time.
