Central Labor Relations Commission Chair: "Mediation Proposal Unlikely Today"... Second Post-Adjustment Talks Between Samsung Electronics Labor and Management Extended Until the 19th
The second post-adjustment meeting between Samsung Electronics management and labor union, which could be their final negotiation, will continue until the 19th. The Central Labor Relations Commission's mediation proposal is also expected to be presented as early as that day.
Park Sugun, Chairman of the Central Labor Relations Commission, met with reporters on the 18th during the ongoing second post-adjustment meeting between Samsung Electronics management and labor union at the Government Complex Sejong, stating, "We have decided to continue the post-adjustment process until tomorrow," and added, "Tomorrow's meeting will also start at 10 a.m."
Regarding the atmosphere of the morning session, Chairman Park said, "We have only heard the basic positions from both sides," and remarked, "It seems difficult to present a mediation proposal within today." However, he refrained from commenting on whether there was a significant gap between the positions of labor and management. When asked about the expected end time of the meeting, he responded, "We plan to continue until 7 p.m."

Following a request from both parties, Chairman Park is now solely responsible for conducting the second post-adjustment mediation.
Attending the meeting that day were Choi Seungho, head of the Samsung Electronics branch of the Samsung Group Super-Enterprise Union, and the newly appointed chief negotiator from management, Yeo Myunggu, head of the DS People Team. Chairman Park presided over the meeting as the sole mediator.
The Super-Enterprise Union, representing the labor side, has already announced that it will launch a general strike for 18 days starting on the 21st, following the breakdown of the previous post-adjustment talks.
