Fishing Boat Collision off Ulleung Sea... No Casualties
At around 5:50 p.m. on the 23rd, a collision occurred between fishing vessel A (69 tons) and fishing vessel B (7.31 tons) while they were operating at Dodong Port in Ulleung County, North Gyeongsang Province.
A fishing boat collision accident occurred in front of Dodong Port, and the coastal rescue boat was urgently dispatched.
View original imageFour members of the Korea Coast Guard were dispatched with an inshore rescue boat to carry out rescue operations. At the time, it was confirmed that there were seven people on board vessel A and one person on vessel B.
Immediately after the accident, both vessel A and vessel B were guided by the responding Coast Guard to nearby Jeodong Port. Fortunately, no casualties were reported as a result of this accident.
An official from the Ulleung Police Substation of the East Sea Coast Guard said, "We plan to investigate the details of the accident by checking the crew members' statements and the ships' navigation records."
