Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kim Ikang) announced on the 21st that it will carry out the ‘Student Horse Riding Experience Support Project’ until November.

This project is designed to provide horse riding experience opportunities to students enrolled in elementary, middle, and high schools within the district, as well as out-of-school youth. Last year, Seo-gu provided horse riding experience opportunities to 180 students, and due to the great response from students, 200 participants were selected this year.

Participating students will receive 10 lessons of 60 minutes each at a total of four horse riding centers selected after reviewing facility conditions and appropriate student allocation: ▲Goldrun Horse Riding Land ▲Songsan Horse Riding Center ▲Eodeungsan Horse Riding Center ▲Yeomju Horse Riding Center.

The cost of the horse riding experience is 320,000 KRW per person, including an insurance fee of 20,000 KRW, of which Seo-gu supports 70%, amounting to 224,000 KRW.

Jung Sohyun, Director of the Economic Division, said, “Horse riding offers various benefits such as emotional stability, physical training, and stress relief. We hope that growing students will build memories and gain confidence by interacting with horses, and we will continue to strive to provide opportunities to more students in the future.”
