"When You Order Food, Robots Deliver"... Yogiyo Partners with Newbility
Yogiyo-Newbility Collaborate on Robot Delivery Business
Pilot Operation in Incheon Songdo Starting August
Service Expansion to Seoul and Other Areas Planned by Year-End
Starting this August, customers ordering through the delivery application Yogiyo will be able to receive deliveries made by autonomous robots.
On the 21st, Yogiyo announced that it has formed a business partnership with Newility, an autonomous robot service company, to promote a robot delivery service business. This agreement was established to prepare for the future delivery industry. Both companies will collaborate on the joint development, system integration, marketing, and overall aspects of the robot delivery service.
From August, outdoor autonomous robot delivery driving tests will begin, starting in Songdo, Incheon. When ordering from stores within the Yogiyo app that support robot delivery, the robot will identify the customer's location and deliver to the designated spot. Store owners who request robot delivery can load the food onto the robot waiting in front of the store after food preparation.
Yogiyo plans to gradually expand the service operation areas by the end of this year, focusing on urban residential areas and university districts in Seoul and the metropolitan area.
